Information for HIV+ Workers
If you are living with HIV in Jersey you will find lots of useful information on employment issues in this area of our website.
We have highlighted best practice but you should also be aware that Jersey does not currently provide the same legal protection for people living with HIV as the UK, where HIV positive people are protected from the point of diagnosis under the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
Nevertheless, an increasing number of employers in Jersey have HIV policies which include a commitment to non-discrimination on the grounds of someone’s actual or perceived HIV status. They also recognise the needs of HIV positive people and are committed to protecting their confidentiality and privacy.
