School Commitments to the Associate Educators


This is a working agreement template to support both Oasis Esteem Educators and schools in lesson delivery.

Working Agreement Part 1
Associate Educator Commitments to Schools

1. ACET will have a named HIV Educator responsible for communicating with the school and delivering Oasis Esteem educational resources.

2. The HIV Educator has the responsibility to report any discrepancies regarding lesson content and process to the Esteem Regional Co-ordinator.

3. All ACET HIV Educators will have undergone CRB police checks.

4. All ACET Educators will bring appropriate teaching resources and materials in relation to the content of the lesson and in keeping with policy (see Oasis Esteem Education Charter).

5. Any cancellations will be made to the school with at least 5 working days notice.

6. ACET will monitor service provision.

7. ACET will contact the school as part of our quality standards provision.

8. The HIV Educator will uphold the school’s equal opportunity policy guidelines acknowledging race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation, educational status and religion.


Working Agreement Part 2
School Commitments to the Associate Educators

9. The school will have a key named person who has holding responsibility for PSHE delivery and pupil welfare under ’locus parentis’. This will be either the PSHE co-ordinator, head of year, deputy head or head teacher.

10. The school’s key named person will hold responsibility for communicating with the Oasis Esteem Team Leader regarding classroom delivery.

11. The school’s key named person will be responsible with the Oasis Esteem education provider for any discrepancies over classroom delivery including timing content and process.

12. Under school ’locus parentis’ commitments the school is at all times responsible for the safety and well being of the pupils, implemented by a teacher from the school being present with the Educator at all times.

13. The school will be expected to provide relevant teaching equipment including appropriate venue, whiteboard/ flipchart, pens and an OHP, according to the needs of the Educator.

14. The school will inform the Oasis Esteem Team Leader of any cancellations with at least 24 hours notice.

15. Schools will be responsible for the safety and welfare of the Educator whilst on school property. This includes meeting, escorting and introducing the educator to the relevant class.

16. If any discrepancies should arise the school has responsibility with the Associate Team Leader to contact the Oasis Esteem Regional Co-ordinator.

17. The class teacher will be required to complete an evaluation form at the end of each programme.
